Cutaneous Biomarkers: Advancing Health and Sustainability in Salmonid Aquaculture

Description

The salmon aquaculture industry faces a huge health challenge with recurrent sea lice infestations.  There is a strong interest in finding solutions that can mitigate the harmful impacts of this parasite on salmon production.
Through the SKINS co-promotion project, the companies RIASEARCH and SPAROS, in partnership with ENESII (UTAD, ICBAS, CIIMAR, GreenCoLab and S2AQUA) aim to develop new research services to assess the disruption of the sea lice life cycle and the regeneration of skin lesions in salmonids affected by sea lice.
It is expected that this expansion of the portfolio of services offered by RIASEARCH will allow it to consolidate its position in the market and significantly expand its current client base.
