We conduct comprehensive nutritional profiling and sensory assessments to ensure that each product meets high standards of quality, taste, and functionality. Our analyses guide formulation improvements and support health-focused innovation.
We offer contract research services for the development of novel algae-based food products. Our team collaborates with partners to explore new formulations, functional ingredients, and processing techniques tailored to specific market goals.
Led by Kricelle Deamici, with technician Marta Fitas, the team also brings together Daniel Silva, Inês Guerra, and Madalena Mendes, whose expertise and enthusiasm drive innovation in algae-based food and beverage development. The group combines scientific know-how and creativity to turn algae into the foods of the future.

Our laboratory is fully equipped and operates according to food development and handling standards. It includes a lab kitchen with cooking equipment for prototype creation and a wide range of tools and instruments, such as texture and color analysis systems, a high-pressure homogenizer, 3D food printing technology to explore creativity and boost innovation. We also feature a dedicated sensory analysis room with individual tasting cabins for precise product evaluation. Our facilities enable complete algae-based product development, from concept to final testing.
